The Kelp Forests of California

What's happening to the kelp forests in California? It's grim, but there is still hope if we act now.

Macrocystis pyrifera, also known as Giant Kelp, is the building block of California's hidden gem. The kelp forest is like a submerged metropolis; an underwater city filled with an incredible biodiversity that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Over 1,000 species of animals and plants find shelt and a home within the thick curtains of kelp.
